Bombay police are investigating Siddhesh Hiraman Kambla alias Mahakala, who was arrested in the murder of famous singer Sidhu Moose Wal.
Mumbai: A criminal group in Mumbai investigating a letter threatening actor Salman Khan and his father arrived in neighboring Pune on Thursday and began questioning Siddhesh Hiraman Kamble alias Mahakal, who was arrested in the murder of a famous singer. and Congressman Sidhu Moose Wala, the official said. Police will also investigate Kambla, who hid a threatening letter at a bank in the Mumbai Bandra area on Sunday, he said.
Kamble, who was arrested by Pune country police on Wednesday, was part of the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, Maharashtra police said. On Thursday morning, a team led by Deputy Police Commissioner (Crime) Sangramsingh Nishandar in Mumbai arrived at the criminal department in Pune and began questioning Kamble, the official said. Police are investigating whether a letter threatening writer Salim Khan and his son, actor Salman Khan, was not hidden in a bank in Mumbai by members of the Bishnoi gang. On Sunday, Salman Khan’s father and the famous screenwriter Salim Khan sat on a bench in Bandra Bandstand after a morning walk when an unknown man hid a letter about the threat of killing him and his actors.
Later, with the help of his security guards, Salim Khan contacted the police and was registered as an FIR under Section 506-II (Criminal Intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code at Bandra Police Office.
Police later recorded the statements of Salim Khan and Salman Khan.
Police arrested Kambla last month in connection with the murder of singer Sidhu Moose Wal in the Punjab, while another suspect and his closest colleague Santosh Jadhav, also from Pune in Maharashtra, were identified as a crime shooter, officials said Wednesday. Kamble, against whom a strict Maharashtra Organized Crime Control (MCOCA) law has been passed, is wanted by Pune (rural) police to hide Jadhava, against whom the murder case is registered at Manchar Police Station in Pune in 2021.
